Retrieval the Study of Shamanic Healing
In the past centuries shamans were held with the utmost of
respect. The shamanic healers were considered as important as
a chief or general of a Battalion because without the shamanic
healing the village or tribe would not survive. Shamanic
healing has been mainly associated with an eastern medicine it
has been surviving throughout the world in several tribal
communities.
Over the years there have been a growing number of
contemporary practitioners of shamanic healing. However the
shaman was a person who communicates with the spirits and
visits other realms or places with their own spirit pathways.
The shamans may use a tool like a drum or rattle to achieve
passage into another state of being or another realm of
consciousness. The shaman then can enter other worlds or
realms. The upper, lower, or middle worlds or realities are
then seen by the shaman. These practices are still continued
in modern days.
This is where the shaman goes to ask for healing for the
patient or whoever needs healing and is general accompanied by
there power animals or helpers.
The Shamans believe that illness is the loss of energy and
that accident or trauma or ailments can result in loss of life
force. Which is vital to ones essence or soul the part of the
soul or essence that leaves takes part of the person’s life
force. It then goes to the other worlds where the shaman must
go to retrieve it.
The loss of life force often leads to depression, problems
with ones immune system, as well as rendering the person
unable to move on after death. The shaman must go and retrieve
the soul and life force this is ‘Soul Retrieval’.
The Shamanic Healer also handles issues regarding issues with
power loss. This is caused by core problems with
confrontation, unrelenting problems, loss of support of the
communities tribal or other wise, loss of self-esteem, stress
from family or circumstances involving the family. In this
shamanic healing process the shaman has to travel down to the
lower levels and find the person’s power animal.
This step boosts the patient’s confidence and gives them the
strength to go on or continue with life on a stronger level.
It shows them the light they were missing and fills them with
‘power’ again.
The role of the shaman in ancient days or modern days has not
changed much. There are several tribes and modern day
practitioners working shamanic healing as a major part of
their lives. Shamanic healing is very therapeutic and can give
aid in counseling or mentoring a person through decision
making as well as ‘soul retrieval’ and other more serious
needs. The role of the shaman is a great one and is not taken
lightly in a tribal village and other communities. Belief in
the abilities of the shaman by why of energy is also great.
The life force of the tribe is important as a whole and many
tribes feel that it should be maintained at all times.
Understanding and practicing shamanic beliefs is a life long
practice and is a way of life for many.
